A buying group is simply an entity that is created to leverage the purchasing power of a group of businesses which in this case is independent trade businesses to obtain discounts from vendors based on the collective buying power of its members.

Buying groups make it easy for businesses to save money as they remove the need pressure on businesses in seeking out and negotiating supplier pricing. PERL Rewards work in tandem with your company to make sure you are get both the best value and a great relationship with your suppliers.

When we sit down with a current or potential supplier, we are in affect bringing all our PERL Rewards member businesses to the table with us. With that volume there’s a good reason why our current and potential supply partners are so keen to give us reflective pricing and terms of trade. When you become a member of the PERL Rewards Group, all members businesses benefit directly from the terms we negotiate. When that supplier happens to be your existing supplier, even though you still have the same direct relationship with your supply partner, they just give you better pricing as a group than you get as an independent trade contractor.

The driving force behind PERL Rewards is simply to enable hard working “tradies” and trade related businesses access to an extensive number of supply partners to:

• Maximise our members margin and profit on every job

• Ensure members collect supplier trade points on every purchase
• Save our member’s time
• Ensure our members remain market competitive

The primary aim of PERL Rewards Group is to enable our independent trade contractor members (Plumbers, Drainlayers, Gas Fitters, Electricians, Builders, Landscapers, Plasters, Gib Fixers, Insulators, Painter and Decorators, Maintenance etc…) to get the best possible discount offers and terms obtained through volume buying negotiation from nominated national supply partners and wholesalers. When you join PERL Rewards, you join a large network of Kiwi owned and operated trade businesses and their employees. That creates a lot of negotiating power.

PERL has worked in close collaboration with the industries best suppliers, chosen for their superior service, support, innovative product, and value proposition. We have sourced the best supply partners, across just about everything you need to successfully run your trade business from power to petrol and electrical and plumbing supplies to payment systems, vehicles and trade debt recovery. We have every aspect of your business covered and a few bonuses thrown in for fun!

• Your business can purchase On-Account from as many of the supply partners you love as you like – the more suppliers you use and the more often you purchase, the more you will save. It’s that simple.
• If you currently purchase from one of our supply partners, we can connect your existing account to the PERL Rewards price-file so you can access your exclusive PERL Rewards discount.
• While you retain the direct supplier relationship and purchasing as you normally would – you do so with lower rates.
• Our PERL Rewards supply partners are the best. All supply partners no matter how reputable or well-known go through a rigorous tender, negotiation and annual review process with our expert procurement team. We do the hard yards, so you don’t have to!
• When you initially join PERL Rewards, a consultation with one of our friendly team will help you to make the most of your membership.
• When a new supply partner enters the PERL Rewards program that we believe could benefit your business we will contact you to discuss adding it to your range of supply choices. As long as you remain a PERL Rewards Member PERL Rewards aim is to help you to increase your margins and reduce your business costs.
• Plus if you know an existing supplier that you feel would benefit the wider PERL Rewards membership, let us know so that we can take up the challenge of negotiating a national deal for both you and the wider group.

We have aligned ourselves with some of the most recognised brands in Australia and New Zealand, giving you the national buying power to provide you with the best prices and discounts on an array of product and services, which are all chosen to reduce your costs, improve your margins and put more money in your pocket.

Membership is FREE. As we grow, we also improve our negotiating power which in turn improves our member discounts.

It’s a win win! PERL Rewards does not set mandatory participation levels for their members. Members participate based on their purchasing needs and their level of confidence in what should be competitive pricing negotiated. There is no commitment to purchase from any of our PERL Rewards suppliers.

As you can appreciate every PERL Group Members buying behaviours are different. So it’s no surprise that every one of our members savings will be different. So before you commit to PERL, we will:

1. Show you all the discounts available from each of our supply partners.
2. Show you exactly how much you could save based off your current buying behaviour.

There is no commitment to buy from our suppliers. There is no requirement to remain in the PERL Group. You can leave at any time after the required notice group. And if you have not saved $500.00 plus GST in the first full year of your membership, we will simply refund you. *Conditions Apply

As a PRG Member you can choose to purchase either On-Account or by our PERL Rewards Group Card with any of our supply partners - the more you use your card, the more you will save!

Your business can set up trade accounts with our PERL Supply Partners.

There are many supply partners to choose from.

You trade directly with the supply partners, paying via monthly invoicing, with the PERL Rewards Group discount applied.

Plus, if you currently purchase from one of our supply partners, we can connect your existing account to the PERL Rewards Group pricing so you can access your exclusive PERL Rewards discount.

The PERL Rewards Card is a digital rewards card loaded into your digital card wallet held within Stocard. Stocard is a mobile application available for iOS and Android devices and for SmartWatch, which acts as a digital wallet for all your loyalty cards, to allow you to take advantage of PERL Rewards discounts and special offers reserved for card holders. It is the quick and easiest way to access instant business discounts in-store at most of our most popular supply partners - without having to open a trade account. So it’s perfect if you want to extend the discounts as an employment perk for your team. The PERL Rewards Card is:

• Personalised to each staff member
• Allows access to discounts without having to open an account
• Easy to use - simply show at the time of purchase
• Ensures payment at the time of purchase via cash or EFTPOS - no credit link to your company

Nothing changes… Once we set you up or transfer your account to the PERL Rewards pricing you simply buy like you do already.  If you are a new customer, you will be given a direct trade account with the supply partners you nominated to open an account with when you first applied to become a PERL Rewards Member. Your special PERL Rewards discount price file is loaded against your account. You simply place your orders and pay your invoices directly with our supply partners as you would normally do. 

If you are an existing customer of a supplier and you switch to PERL Rewards pricing at the same supplier, you will continue to receive 100% of all the loyalty points your account normally generates.

No… While we have access to reputable operating system suppliers that you are welcome to join, unless you see a benefit in doing so you, you don’t need to change your existing systems. The only time we will suggest a change to an alternative operating system will be because integration of pricing from one of our nominated suppliers (particularly plumbing, electrical and building products) is not possible with your present operating system. Otherwise just stick with what you’ve got.

No… We like you just the way you are! Unless you are a part of our PERL Plumbing or PERL Electrical Franchise Membership, you’re not required to change your brand. If you’re looking for a supplier to rebrand your vehicle or wider business livery, we can put you in touch with some great suppliers to get you sorted. PERL Rewards aim is simply to reduce your costs and improve your margins putting more money in your pocket to spend on what you enjoy. We're not wanting clone you! End of story!

PERL Plumbing and PERL Electrical Franchises benefit from an enhanced model with additional benefits including training, development, regional and national accounts, business, nationally coordinated marketing and advertising, seminars, integrated business systems, that are not made available to PERL Rewards Members. No… PERL Rewards Group will send two separate consolidated supplier newsletters called PERLA DEALS each month that will contain enhanced supply partner offers. The offers are likely to be “WIGIG” in nature “When It’s Gone Its Gone” so they are limited in time, quantity and/or extremely good value. You can opt out of this bi-monthly email at any time by simply emailing us with your account name and account member code.

Supply partners are not permitted to communicate with you via email, text or any forms of social media unless you have indicated your willingness to receive direct communication and / or offers from them. This option to opt in or out of ongoing communication is undertaken as part of the initial application process. At any time you choose to change your initial decision you can simply email us at membership@perlrewards.co.nz and we will follow up with the supplier(s) you chose to cease future communications from.

Yes... Discount is offered by each supplier as part of your PERL membership is available to every member including your employees if you have chosen to extend your membership discounts to include them and suppliers have chosen to extend discounts offered to PERL Rewards Card holders. Please note that some suppliers do not offer discounts to card holders.

PERL Rewards has access to several system options… operating, estimating, vehicle tracking, and they are all fully integrated with many of the systems you currently use. PERL Rewards systems are chosen to help save you time and money, so you spend less time working and doing more of what you love!

The PERL Rewards Group is a members-only trades buying group. You must be a member to access our supply deals. You must also meet both our and our suppliers credit criteria.

If you are interested in membership, we’d love to hear from you, but you must meet the following criteria:

• Be a licenced / registered / certified builder, electrician, plumber or other building and construction trade related business or a supplier to or employee of PERL Rewards, PERL Plumbing, PERL Electrical, PERL Lifestyle or PERL Group NZ Limited
• Be a GST registered business or sole trader
• Be prepared to use PERL Rewards suppliers as per their supply agreements
• Agree to abide by all suppliers’ terms of trade
• Be prepared to complete a business or personal credit check if required
• Be prepared to complete a non-disclosure agreement All members are expected to be of good character and integrity!
